Summer Session of Herbal Approach to Systems Dysfunctions/Pathological States. Includes Fatigue & Debility, Joint Diseases, Digestive & Bowel Disorders.

Each course in this series covers three months as a “flipped classroom”. Students receive study materials approximately one month ahead of the live 4-hour class. These courses will also be available online for distance learners in the future. In addition to the pdf study materials, we use the Ultimate Herbal Database as a primary resource and a subscription is recommended. Optional textbook: Principles and Practice of Phytotherapy, Modern Herbal Medicine, by Kerry Bone & Simon Mills, on which the course series is based.

Fatigue & Debility: Materials sent May 20, Class Meetup June 15

  • Treatment of:

    • Fatigue and debility after illness, prolonged stress, injury or trauma (convalescence)

Joint Diseases: Materials sent June 15, Class Meetup July 20

  • Treatment of:
    • Early and transient joint inflammation
    • Gout
    • Repetitive strain injury

    • Long-standing joint disease with joint damage
    • Low back pain
    • Fibromyalgia

Digestive System and Bowel: Materials sent July 22, Class Meetup August 17

  • Treatment of:
    • Functional disorders such as dyspepsia, gastro-esophageal reflux, irritable bowel syndrome
    • Inflammatory conditions of the upper digestive tract, such as aphthous ulcers, esophagitis, gastritis
    • Chronic gastrointestinal infections and dysbiosis
    • Constipation
